    database

I am a xerox technician i have worked for xerox for over 30 years and i developed an app to help identify xerox products all xerox products are identified by the first three characters of thier serial number ie a ex7123456 would be a 5855 and yet a ex9 would be a 5890 as an example. and sometimes different products use SOME different parts. So anyways we just merged with another company who also services HP. and i am wondering is there such a database as that for hp ie a 5ht is a hp laserjet 4 and a 6ht is a laserjet 5? or anything like that? even IF its only in your head i could change the app for the HP guys?

Get onto the HP Partner Portal and find the WISE site.

As the guy with many databases, I'm surprised I hadn't thought of that yet.

I suppose it would be easy enough to do. Re-sort the Daily Activity sheet by serial number, then see how the models arrange themselves. You were interested in HP products? I'll spend a few minutes this weekend on it.

PM me a destination email. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
