    HP M426 initialization

I have one of these with a very low meter that is stuck in initialization mode. No codes or errors, just won't boot up. Customer tried unplugging everything and replugging, that was no help. I'm heading out tomorrow to try a cold reset, but anyone seen this on this model?

If that doesn't take care of it try NVRAM initialization, after that I would say formatter

Well, I got out there, unplugged fax and cat5 cable, then unplugged power for a minute like HP suggests. That did nothing. Tried cold reset or NVRAM reinitialization (whatever they're calling it these days) and that also did nothing. The print engine cycled find, screen came on with HP logo and started warming up until it got to the "initializing" mode. That is everything above the print engine, which were dead. Scanner and DF did nothing. So, I left a loaner and brought it back to the shop. Plugged it in and the damn thing worked. Apparently you have to leave it unplugged for quite awhile. I have another new one ordered, I may just leave the loaner there till it comes in and swap it out. This was New old stock, so it's like brand new but I don't trust it an hour away. If it keeps working here I'll resell it as a demo model somewhere a whole lot closer just in case.

Well, that's not good. These little cheap machines are rather labor intensive to work on. So far I've been lucky with the few I have, they've run flawlessly until the fuser goes out around 60k-70k, at which point it's almost as cheap to just replace it.
