hi i can provide the firmware but please consider contributing to ctn.
Longtime reader! First time poster.
Up until now, I've been able to use your site and the great Internet to solve my printer issues, but this latest underhanded move by HP has me all turned around. It would appear that auto updates was either magically or mistaking enabled in our elementary main office's HP MFP M479fdn. Last week one of the (what has to be illegal) firmware updates went through and locked out the ability to use the third-party cartridges we've been using for years. We're a small district (~1500 kids total). Did anyone have any luck finding an older version of firmware for these? I got to the end of Google three different times with no luck.
I appreciate any direction or assistance.
Phillip
Hi yes Please pm me i have the firmware.
Finally I have not been able to enter the firmware in the printer using the methods that you have explained to me, I don't know if there is any other method...
Thank you
Hi what model do you have again
m454 or m479
as i have found some older versions that will work.
please pm me i have other ways.
Hello all, this is my first time having heard about this forum and I seem to have run into the same problem as the original poster. We have an m454 that updated late last year and now does not want to accept our cartridges. Kicking myself for not disabling auto-update on this before...
I noticed the poster earlier in this thread discussed a forum contribution, which makes complete sense. If I could get an older version of the firmware that allows me to use these cartridges again, I would gladly contribute as well. Especially if this allows us to save as much in toner cost as we were trying to save.
Whatever I need to do, let me know
Thanks,
- Kyari
