    Color LaserJet 3550

What would cause a quality issue seen on the attached document. I was thinking transfer belt. Going out to look at machine tomorrow.

    Thanks for the help.

Looks more like transfer belt blade.
Take cleaning unit off and check for wear or paper dust buildup.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

I agree. Is the client using 3rd party cartridges? Sometimes there is more toner dumping going on than cleaning process can handle. This gets deposited on belt and subsequently the paper.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

    Re: Color LaserJet 3550

Hi, Thanks for the replies. I replaced the Transfer Belt and so far so good.

I would have thought the problem was related to compatible toners but all my customers with color machines use genuine only. Learned my lesson a long time ago. It is just not worth the hassle with problems caused by generic toners.

    Thanks again for the help.
