    Non-Contract rates

    Good morning troops...

Trying to get an idea on what some folks out there are asking for servicing a customer's machine that's not under a service contract on KM equipment. We want to try and be competitive... but at the same time we don't want to price ourselves out of business either way.

I know it's going to vary from region to region as well.... so we want to get as close as we can to "average".

Thank you in advance.... and stay safe out there!

We're not a KM dealer or service, mainly ricoh, but also do HP, Brother, Lexmark, Xerox, etc.....(just about anything we can get our hands on), and maybe we come in on the low side, but we charge $80.00/ hr plus mileage. Nebraska Dealer.

$125 per hour in central Virginia. + mileage if outside of the metro area. Also, we are C.O.D if they are a first time customer.
Way too many people want you to look at their old piece of crap, but then don't want to pay you if it's too expensive to fix.

Some dealers charge the hourly rate when starting from the office, some don't. You have to check out locally. We understand for xerox to come in our area it is $300

We charge $125 per. I read somewhere that in urban areas you can change a bit more than rural areas. That also goes for technician wages. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Re: Non-Contract rates

Washington DC, VA - Northern VA NOVA, MD (WV Border to Eastern Shores. Baltimore tunnel south to VA)
Floor Model MFP up to 90ppm - $125hr to $150 BW and $175 to $210 Color up to 50 miles.
Printers - $90 hr flat rate less than 50 miles
    Wide Format - $175hr 2hr min

Example: I come out to your office today and diagnose your MFP and you need a fuser. If you want me to order and install, the labor rate is still $125. That includes my 1st trip and 2nd trip to install. If it is something labor intensive like a developer change then it is $125hr and will bill 2hr min.

I do contract work for a few different dealers in the DC Metro Area. Parking is quite expensive in DC if you are driving. In any given week I can spend $100 just on parking meters and garages. $2.30hr street or $8 - $15hr garage. Rush hour streets are parking from 930 - 4 so you have to park in a garage later in the day or risk the $100 ticket if caught after 4pm, oh that is $100 if you pay in 15 days, then it is $200 afterwards. I am responsible for all my own tickets.

    Hope that helps.
