We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.

i never tried on A4 but thats only because it defaulted to A3 and I didnt think the paper size would matter
almost all the customers prints are A3 booklets

Do you think its worth me going back to test on A4 and if so why.

The blobs dont repeat, they change all the time.

    Does those areas feel gritty?
Could be developer on the prints.
In that case it could be a bad HV contact at the back?
    Whatever

If it's fuser speed, the buckle is changing as the paper is passing the drum. A misaligned fuser can cause the paper to track to the front or rear causing the paper to pull away from the drum. A4 LEF is very short in the feed direction, and doesn't get much of an opportunity to track off center (you shouldn't see much of an effect on A4 LEF).

A bad connection at the second transfer can cause a curved void all the way across the page. very similar to what you're seeing.

Are you getting any jams or errors? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

the A3 would show 'repetitive defects' in ALL image process units, A3 = 11x17 LGL

    A4 = 8.5x11 shorter media SEF LTR

There were some Kyoceras with fuser alignment issues, that produced a similar effect. Not bizhubs. Just speculating.

I'd try adjusting fuser speed. =^..^=
