    C3100p image unit low

Hey there. I have a customer that was inquiring as to whether or not the C3100p can show that the image unit is low. She experiences the image unit empty message but does not believe that she has ever seen an image unit low message. The impact this has is she then has to be down for a few days while she's waiting for an image unit.

It states in the service manual that "near life" is 17,000, life is 20k and life stop is 21k. You would assume there is a near life warning in this case.

There was a "Near Empty/Near Full" setting on the older model that had to be switched on. Give me a moment and I'll have a look for it.

    So....

    Service mode

    System 2

Paper Empty Alert (I dont know why it is in here!)

    Near Empty

    I-UNIT Low

    Paper Empty Alert1.jpg

    Paper Empty Alert.jpg

According to that it should be on by default!

There is also a setting to extend the life of the image units from 105% life to 167% life.

    That's awesome. Thanks a million!
