    bizhub C368 Detail Codes

Has anybody decoded the Detail Codes yet?

I had a bizhub C368 this morning that the screen was blacking out and sometimes unresponsive. Re-booting brings it back every time, sometimes just pressing the Menu button restores function.

There are two years of history, and August & September are the worst (35 to 60 events in every August & September). Two or three events in the each of other months. Few other error or jam codes.

It's got some fairly obvious power issues. H-N sags of 8vac, G-N spikes 2.0 to 2.6vac, and not just a few ... hundreds of spikes over my one hour sample.

So I have hundreds of Detail Codes:

    0X1FFF 0XDC0435836A600F05
    0X1FFF 0XDC0436836A600F05 many
    0X1FFF 0XDC0436836C600F05
    0X1FFF 0XDC0405846C606C05
    0X1FFF 0XDC0405856C606705
    0X1FFF 0XDC040F8A6B616305
    0X1FFF 0XDC04128C6E615805
    0X1FFF 0XDC0437836A600F05
    0X1FFF 0XDC0437836B600F05
    0X1FFF 0XDC0437836C600F05
    0X1FFF 0XE600280800000000 many
    0X2019 0X0000000000000000
    0X200D 0X0000000000000000 many
    0XE3BB 0X0000000000000000
    0X1FFF 0XEF02732118980000 many
    0X1FFF 0XEF02732118000000 many
    0X1FFF 0XEF02732118A00000 many
    0X1FFF 0X20FED90103060000
    0X1FFF 0X20FED90200212504
    0X1FFF 0X20FED903080032AA
    0X1FFF 0X24006B40C5000501

In the process of typing them up and re-arranging the order I see a lot of trends. I kinda expected to see date/time embedded, but I can't find that. Has anybody de-coded these detail codes (or parts of them)? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

0x1FFF It tells you that the C368 has restarted automatically.Restarts are sometimes normal but if very close to each other, there is something wrong. Sometimes it happens that the multifunction printer cannot wake up after this restart (sometimes they are accompanied by FA14 or E301) and KM advised me to fix some energy saving settings (default settings but instead of turning off secondary power, set to energy saving).
Some codes can only be interpreted by the Konica Minolta team

    Re: bizhub C368 Detail Codes

if you look at the "Error codes" page on the management list , do any of them match up with these, if you look at the "Read me" that comes with the FW, often that will give a clue for the codes you're getting. I started compiling a list of E301 errors as these coincided with these codes.

I manage to find only that:
Trouble code FA14 (thread soft error)and E301 by “Time series order”, “Monthly occurrence” or
    “Detailed Code Differentiator”.

    • This [Detail code] is set to analyze the cause of the C-FA14 error or the C-E301 error.
    • The refer, to send inquiries to KM, also send the “detail code history list”.

I tried Hex to Decimal convertor but can't find sense.

Sorry. Three pages of Detail Codes. Perhaps a total of 20 jams and two errors ever, none if which match the time criterion (I thought of that).

    Re: bizhub C368 Detail Codes

Weird that this thread was started when I just had something very similar happen on a 958. The call was jamming but that was not the issue. The machine's display had the white screen with the orange border and "An internal error has occurred. Error will be cleared automatically." in the upper left. I couldn't see any correlation between anything in service mode and this issue and stumbled upon the detail codes portion of the service mode. In there were 3 pages of these same codes as in the OP. So, I decided to turn off the Internal Error Auto Cancel function for both instances (B & C) under Service mode>System 2>Page 2>Internal Error Auto Cancel. I then ran the machine and low and behold, there appeared a C-2204 which is a waste box motor failure to turn malfunction. I checked the waste box and sure enough, the top gear wouldn't turn on the nearly full waste box. Swapped it out and all was well.

So, maybe try and turn off both Internal Error Auto Cancel options and see what happens then. They come from the factory set to on but after yesterday and my experience, we've decided to set B to off and C to on. B is mostly for motors and fans and why in the world you'd not want an error code for those is beyond me. C is for weird stuff that usually is re-settable with a power cycle so we figured why not let the machine try and reset those issues.

for this codes you need special firmware with sata controller for emmc

I don't recommend you disable them by default. This tip is only good when you want to find out the error code right away and avoid automatic restarts. I have tried to do this and over the course of time I have received many calls for unnecessary things. Sometimes a simple on/off is not enough but the trouble reset is necessary

Notice I said to ONLY turn off "B", and to leave "C" set to on.

My theory on this is that if a motor isn't turning for whatever reason (B is for motors and fans), turning off and on the machine or leaving "B" in the Internal Error Auto Cancel set to on, thereby letting the machine try and "fix" it itself doesn't make sense. If a motor doesn't turn, then something has gone wrong somewhere and continually auto resetting it won't ever make it work, which is the scenario I was eluding to. The machine had been doing the auto reset thing for several hours, which the customer NEVER SEES simply because they print to the machine from somewhere else in the building since this is a Community College (there are 2 958's sitting side by side). All they see is that the machine stopped with paper jammed all over in it instead of getting the code C-2204 to show up the very first time and me going out to actually fix the issue. They essentially put up with it "jamming" for hours vs. a code C-2204 popping up immediately and them calling us to have it fixed in an hour or so. Actually, the time to fix it would have been a couple of minutes, because I would have had the Key Op swap out the waste box and that would have saved me a round trip of 100 miles.

In my 30+ years of experience, motors don't just randomly stop once and then be fine after that. The problem can be a number of things to make the motor stop. Is whatever the motor is driving, frozen up? Is the motor just bad? Is there paper stuck in a lift motor assy. causing the issue? Is something broken and stopping the motor from turning? And on and on and on. Like I said, motors don't just stop for no reason and then just be fine. There is an underlying circumstance to stop the motor from turning so why would you want the customer to not have that issue fixed ASAP? I certainly would.

Leaving "C" turned off in the Internal Error Auto Cancel setting should be fine since none of those issues involve motors. It's mostly logic based errors which can usually be attributed to voltage spikes or just random quirks causing false errors.
