Firmware update on MFP with authentication

Hi, from some customers I have printers with authentication. In the past I have had problems with printing when the driver version is not compatible with the new printer firmware.

Now I need to update the firmware on some printers to add new functions but I am afraid of the compatibility with the driver currently installed by the customer.


The customer has at least 40 PCs for each printer and it becomes difficult to update the driver for each of them. So, in your opinion, if I only do the firmware update, without changing the version, could it be a solution?

Firmware is released for 2 main reasons..to correct an issue, or to add features..If you do not change the function version (switch 25) then yes, you can continue to use the older drivers. As long as the driver matches the function version then authentication should work as normal..E
