Schools! They tried on both machines.
unless you go through Konica and the secret service you have two parts machines.
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
Also don't ask me for files without a contributor badge.
since its a school, they may be able to claim the damage as vandalism.
see what their insurance covers, you may just sell 2 new machines if you cant go the legit path.

Pardon my ignorance for asking, but does the copying of money on KM machines disable them??? I have known people to copy items such as checks, titles & various certificates with holographic foil or micro print on other brands of Mfp's, in other words the mfp will black/blank the image or expose the micro print prominently!!!
Thoughts Welcome!!!
Thanks!

Depends on the amount of money they copied, after +- 10 copies the machine locks up and gives a security code error. Customer is screwed. There is a big sticker that explain this to customers on the scanner.

Makes Sense!!! I wonder if this "error" can be cleared with the KM Mainboard reset tool or if the error propagates throughout the system & gets stored on other boards which store data?! Either way, there is some SERIOUS expense involved and most definitely a teachable moment for the customer!!!

The sticker is small for most dumb a** customers.
However learned something new. Thanks Thayer.
A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
I don't reply to private messages from end users.
Just a followup: While we were trying to figure out something to do, the customer called us back. Apparently pressing "Reset" several times cleared the error condition on both machines. Apparently it wasn't the +/- 10 times to brick the machine.
We haven't stood in front of the machine, but I'll be interested in knowing the code. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
