458e Konica

Hi guys, dose anyone solve this error before in Konica minolta 458e (C-40A1), its related to (Mechanical controller sub-CPU communication error)
action taken according to SM (2) Procedures:-1. Turn OFF the main power switch, disconnect and then connect the power cord. Wait for 10 sec. or more after connect the power cord,
and turn ON the main power switch.
2. Rewrite the firmware.
3. machine accepted FW but stopped at 10% at printer/scanner section (NG)
4. I replaced MFPB but the same issue in the same stage.
does anyone have idea about that please.

look at wiring diagram its called pwbex , like a printer driver board. loads that the smaller 8 series unit dont have, are fed by it.

Have exactly the same on a C368. Replaced MFP PWB - same error. Original MFP PWB put back on with a new emmc PWB - same error? No answers, as yet?

Sorry, I forget to submit the solution which wasn't related to any boards, we replaced MFPB, we tried and tried and we found in the end something crazy 😄 Just remove the tray 1,2 you'll find the holder with the sensor behind the tray out of the position or broken , corrected by replace it if broken or disconnect it until you replace it.. Thanks.

О n the same series of machine c308 I had an error on MFPB, ICP8E was interrupted.

C40A1 at power up Service manual describes it as a Communication Error in the CPU

Root Cause

Possible 3.3 v-dc power issue at the FD Paper Size board for tray 1 or 2 (FDPSB/1 or FDPSB/2)). The connector, holder, sensor may be damaged or shorting to frame. Damage could occur when installing/unistalling these from paper feed options. These are 3.3 VDC supplied so if there is an interruption or short this could cause the communication error

Service manual instructions include checking:
• 308e/368e/C308/C258/C368--- 3.3 VDC Circuit protection ICP 8E
• 458e/558e/658e--- 3.3 VDC Circuit protector ICP F10E

Workaround/Fix
Check condition and installation of both FDPSB 1 and 2 photointerrupters, holders, and connectors.

Replace components as necessary:
1. FDPSB/1 or FDPSB/2, p/n A161M50600
2. Holder for FDPSB/1 or FDPSB/2, p/n A5C16728000
