Special firmware versions are available to support the underscore character for FTP and SMB Host Names.
bizhub 223/283/363/423: Use version GSB-D1 (replaces version GE8-B5 that was for FTP only) is available
bizhub C224/C284/C364: Use version GS8-65
bizhub C454/C554: Use version GS8-65
bizhub C654/C754: Use version GS8-65
After installing the special firmware, software DIPSW 44 must be set to Hex 20 or 00100000 binary.
To change the DIPSw setting in Service Mode:
1. Touch [Software Switch Setting].
2. Touch [Switch No.] and enter the intended switch number with the ten-key pad.
Software Switch No.: 44
3. Touch [Bit Assignment].
4. Use [?] or [?] to select a bit. To set the bit, enter 0 or 1 with the ten-key pad.
5. To set the bit in Hex, touch [HEX Assignment] and use the ten-key pad and [A] to [F]
keys to enter numbers and characters.
HEX Assignment: 00 g
No Underscore support
HEX Assignment: 20 g

a. The Special firmware and Release Notes are available via the Konica Minolta Download Selector and One-Stop Product Support.
b. This firmware
does not support the underscore character for PageScope Data Administrator or OpenAPI.
c. When the Software Switch No.44 is set to 0x20, the underscore character can be input for SMB host name in the following settings:
- Direct input of the destination for Scan to SMB and Scan to FTP
- One-touch destination for Scan to SMB and Scan to FTP (It is also supported when using PSWC.)
- Image Log Transfer (Type2) settings
- PING Host Address field to help when troubleshooting
d. The underscore character cannot be input in the beginning and ending of the host name. For example, the host names as follows are invalid.
