Follow exactly the steps escalante show you. Also you are supposed first to connect USB and then turn on the machine.
Try it also with front door open.

you can tell Life Stop was disabled on that car
download HPs USB drive formatting tool. Run this on your USB drive then reoad the files once again. The drive can't have any security software running on it. And some drives work fine for years then they just quit. E
