As POR means Power-On Reset sometimes POR just means to turn off/on device or to turn it off/on and enter Diagnostics menu, etc.

He has manual and knows how to use it...please just edit your post, it's super helpful as always...but regular endusers easy may defy havoc for poor next tech trying to repair their "work".

My exact need is to get into the configuration menu to reset the Maintenance parts low service check message..

To reset the maintenance counter:1. POR into the Configuration menu, and navigate to Reset Maintenance Counter. 2. Depending on the printer model, press OK to reset the counter, or press X to exit without resetting the counter.Once initiated, the operation cannot be canceled.

    Re: Bizhub 4702/4572 POR

So..the only info KM can provide is based off the 4700P manual (as it seems that the 4702P manual is cut and paste for the most part). The POR is, as I suspected, holding down a certain set of keys and applying power..Like a trouble reset..The 4700 manual says to hold down #2,#6 (I think) to enter POR and access the config menu. Since the 4702 SM does not list this step, support is simply assuming the 4700 procedure should be the same..It's not. Pressing this key sequence does seem to bring you to config, but no other keys work at this point. E

To clarify, are you referring to the MFP 4052/4752? If so you do new release for the maintenance kit in service mode.

    • After replacing a maintenance kit or stapler, perform New Release to clear its life counter.

    • Touch [Counter] -> [Life] -> [New Release].
    • Open the front door.
    • Select a unit where New Release is made.
    • Press the Start key and perform New Release.

If it is for the 4702P printer, you reset the maintenance counter through the config menu from the settings key, device, maintenance, config, supply usage and counters. The user manual isn't all that clear on that. As for POR on the 4702P, from the machine ready or home screen, press **36. To exit press the back key or power off/on

    Re: Bizhub 4702/4572 POR

Update..I went with the tech on site to get the whole story..We have 2 of these side by side at an account. Both were placed the same day...

The 4700 SM seems to be correct when appled to the 4702P..On the 2nd machine '2" "6" and Power On does run through a sequence ending up in config menu. On the 1st, the same sequence displays "No logon configured" OK. Touching Ok does nothing. We are able to enter service and admin mode with another POR. I'm thinking there is a secrity setting enabled to get into config menu, but can't seem to find this referanced in either SM. Going back to flash F/W (although they are both at the same version.
