Bizhub C250 E-mail RX function, how to get it to work?

I noticed an EMail RX setting under the network settings. I tried filling in my POP servers address and login details but nothing happens. I would like to have my bizhub receive emails and print the attachments..... Does anyone know how to get this to work? Anyone got it working at all?

you cannot have a copier receive an email and print an attachment to that email.
    thats not how it works.
besides, copiers dont have spam filters so hope you have an endless supply of paper to keep filling the trays
pop will print the email only, even on current models. no copier that im aware of will open an attachment, decide what format that attachment is and print it.
sorry but thats is way too much to ask of that dinosaur let alone a new model.

Although the C250 does not support this, any new MFP that allows the use of the LK110 v2 allows printing email attachments from POP server. And you all are correct, I don't even think the C250 supported authentication..E

E-mail RX Print is a function that prints a file attached to the E-mail received by the machine.
If you send an E-mail to the E-mail address of the machine, you can print a PDF, Compact PDF, JPEG, TIFF, XPS, Compact XPS, OOXML (.docx/.xlsx/.pptx), or PPML (.ppml/.vdx/.zip) file on the computer using the machine without using the printer driver.
When using the E-mail RX Print function, follow the below procedure to configure the settings.
To use this function, the optional Extension Memory and i-Option LK-110 v2 are required. bizhub C658/C558/C458 provides Extension Memory as standard.

    1. Configure settings for connecting to the network such as setting of the IP address of this machine
For details on configuring the setting, refer to [Configuring network environment settings] .
    2. Configure the E-mail address of this machine
In the administrator mode, select [System Settings] - [Machine Setting] - [Input Machine Address], then configure the E-mail address in [E-mail Address]. For details on configuring the setting, refer to [Registering information of this machine] .
    3. Configure settings to receive E-mails on this machine
For details on configuring the setting, refer to [Configure settings to receive E-mails on this machine] .
    4. Configure settings to print a received E-mail attachment
For details on configuring the setting, refer to [Configure settings to print a received E-mail attachment] .

Wow, didn't know there was an accessory that did that.
Also what if the attachment is a virus or malware?
I'd hesitate to even think of the implications of it.

That's why the output is restricted to files that are not open to including viuses..ie no MS word. E

If it’s a C250i you can install the LK-110 + LK-116 if you suspect that the attached files are infected.

Re: Bizhub C250 E-mail RX function, how to get it to work?

Well, thanks for all the concerns. But I am confident that I can make is safe. The network is not the problem. The problem is that I found this E-mail RX setting in my Bizhub C250 and I was wondering what it could be used for. if i can get it to read a mailbox and print the attachments, that would be really helpful. I would like to give a remote worker the option to print without use of a VPN. Currently email are forwarded to me, so I print them manually. So I rather have this automated in a way. Thats when I found the Email RX setting in my printer and started to wonder what it can be used for......

That's right, it's absurd, but printers now also have antivirus software. In reality they are now computers so we are approaching a new era.
