Ok. Just making sure! Sometimes if D-Min & D-Max are not calibrated correctly, you can have weird things happen!!!C300i - Color Cast on ScansC300i - Color Cast on Scans

this is a color detection issue, do the calibration adjustments if it still persists, most probably poor connection in the ccd circuit, could be ccd optical alignment, bent scanner, misaligned/loose dislodged mirror.

Think Simple...B&W/Color Auto-detect threshold. Magenta background related to the green sensor in the CCD. I believe he said the magenta toning of the background was consistent across the page!C300i - Color Cast on ScansC300i - Color Cast on Scans Remember!!! He SAID *AUTO-DETECT* was TURNED ON for SCANNING!!!

IF the paper you are scanning contains "Optical Brighteners" (additives to make the paper whiter/brighter, mostly towards the blue spectrum, sometimes fluoresing to some degree under a particular light source!!!) it's possible that with the scanner, it is picking up this reflective color cast and (mis)interpreting it as having a "background". In the case of LED's as a light source the color cast they exhibit is called "binning"...

The problem occurs with different papers. Also when scanning recycling paper and newspapers for example.

Make a preset for newspapers with the bleed thru removal detect turned on!!! It's under the scanning application choices and should be listed as "Bkgd. Removal" or "Bleed Removal"...you will be able to adjust the amount of background removal!!!

I have tried it with bleed removal and discoloration adjustment both turned off and on. It`s still the same.
My standard setting for both would be "off" / 0 Standard.
