I don't think Gmail considers the MFP unsecure, just some of the old ways we used to connect these things leaving the ports wide open for hacking..We had a college campus that got hacked via port 25 and sent print jobs to every online copier wasting about 25K sheets of paper. They were using unautheticated SMTP:25 Not gmail, but these web based providers have to protect themselves, many small businesses won't upgrade until they have no choice, I still have some customers running Win 2000..You can complain all you want, I will never be able to get my new devcie to scan back to your laptop.
