Question KM C227 Vertical Lines when the print has coloured elements on the page

    Hi there!
End user is struggling with a KM C227 from some time now. The machine was constantly printing with a magenta hue on all colour pages and the calibration procedures helped a bit whenever the issue was present.
All drums and developing units were changed in the past as they were approaching end of life, but the magenta issue came back after a while and it consumed extra toner. There was also a lot of ejected toner inside the machine.

Now, the machine prints thick vertical lines which seem to be composed of Y, C BK and some M. I've attached a sample print.

Any idea what could be causing the issue? Drums and belt look ok. Possibly the laser unit is dirty?

Moreover, the machine also shows and error C-0202 for Tray 1 . I found some jammed paper in the lift mechanism for Tray 1, but it seems that the motor or sensor is damaged.

    Troublesome machine, this one

if i was to take an educated guess, id focus on the transfer belt and its gears.
to me without hearing it operate, it looks like the cleaning assy gear on the belt is skipping and causing a bounce to the cleaning blade.

The C0202 is most often caused by paper being overloaded. Once you get the paper from behind the tray perform a System Error Clear to reset the error. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Check erase LEDs.

Here's the video from one of the greatest KM techs around:

Btw, this is from basic copy process 101.

In my opinion, there is a defective primary charge roller PCR of the black drum unit. look at the top of the printed sheet at the first two strips and you will see white dots that are repeated plus oblique lines similar to the structure of the cleaning roller of the PCR. Try to replace PCR to another from any used drum or image units or replace black drum unit assembly.

I would suggest you upload the half tones (KYMC) at 255 and 120 to begin the trouble shooting.

Thank you for this. It solved the issue with C0202.

Good tip, this one. I will remember to check in future devices, but in this case all 4 LED's are functional.
