I've had success on the 808 and 658e with replacing the CCDB. They are the same CCDB for both.
This was a common error on the 284e, 554e, and 754e, also solved by the CCDB. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Firmware can fix if it hasn't gone too far. But sound like it too late.
For curiosity. What is causing the problem? Overheating? I would like to understand what they did in the firmware to fix this problem

Its a voltage issue. Too much to be exact. New fw drops it down quite a bit. But if its gone its gone.
Just had a look again on tech bulletin and the fw fix is for the 654e not the 658. Updating fw wouldn't hurt but sounds like ccd is gone.
We had one that after replacing everything related to the code it turned out to be too much light from a nearby window letting in direct sunlight.. Go figure..E
