c3350 and c3351 transfer belts interchangeable?

I see they have different part numbers, the problem is i need a c3351 belt and only have a c3350 belt (old machine not i series)

will it fit and work, before i try it and waste time?

side by side i see the difference.

the cleaning section was completely redesigned on the c3351 including a larger diameter exit for the waste toner

the c3350 belt does fit into the c3351 though and the shutter is opened when inserted

i guess there is increased possibility of waste toner blockage doing this.
