    C-3110, E-304 and E-301...

Customer says machine will go into these codes, but (seemingly) only when he's trying to print... machine, once out of code, seems to copy just fine, but only goes into code when he tries to print... weird.

But then again, when I first installed this machine, the customer could not print to it at all, and it wasn't until they replaced computers/routers on their network that the machine came to life again and started to print...

So I'm wondering if this might have something to do with network print jobs/traffic causing some confusion in the machine?

    Thanks in advance,
    OC

Did you mention what model that you were referring to? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

It sounds like I wasn't the only one that thought that was a service code. I had to search before I found out that it was the actual model. Just commenting, I have no useful info for the OP unfortunately...

I would try to change machine network speed settings from Auto maybe to 100 Mbps Full-Duplex or if it's already set to some speed put it back to Auto. Do you have a ping reply?

    Error Signal Reception

    E301: Referring incorrect memory
E304: Finished due to error outside Qt library

I did a little reading about Qt, but honestly I have no idea where Qt is integrated on the MFP.
I'd call this an answer, but not really an answer. =^..^=

As always it won't hurt machine being on latest firmware. Another good idea is to put a little switch between machine and network that seems to fix few odd network related issues for me in the past.
Turn off all unnecessary network protocols like FTP, IPP, IPV6 etc.
    Good luck.

Something just came to me. Does there network have POE (Power Over Ethernet)? If so, make sure that they have it turned OFF on the port that the copier is connected to. In rare cases, even this didn't help though. Like tsbservice stated, try with a small switch in line and see if that helps.

    Re: C-3110, E-304 and E-301...

Great replies people, thank you. So, a small network switch, with about 4 ports might do it? (I have one of those in my shop that's available)

For reference, this is also a machine, that when I first installed it, it would not print for the customer. You could log in to Pagescope, etc, but you sent a print job and it never printed. While waiting for my IT guy to come back from vacation, the customer ended up replacing several computers and then - miraculously - the machine started to print on its own?! So, in my mind, the possibility that this could still be a network issue is very strong.

Plus, he can reboot the machine and it comes back up, can copy off the feeder, etc, but when sending a print job is where he gets the E-304 and E-301 codes.. strange

You might treat it like you would a non-print data issue:

    Change the IP address
    Check for correct print drivers
    Check for correct print emulation
    Check for duplicate IP
