i never use the USB method, use this instead.
worked for me couple hundreds times over the years
does not have to be a crossover cable, straight ones work too as most PC nic cards will auto adjust.
just set the PC to dhcp and the software will find it.

didnt find it... get an error "BOOTPD : Socket has not been created 9XXXX"

so weird, i added a DVD rom drive, boots a windows disk and linux USB boot disk, but every ISO i burn it wont boot. just hangs.

Does it want a CD and not a DVD?

going to make a real crossover...

dhcp on PC, and i use powerISO to make a virtual DVD and run the install from it. no need to make a real disk

remember, flip the switch(s) shown in the guide i posted and hook the laptop to the copier port on the fiery, not the lan one.

I'm sure Synthohol 's advice is way to go.

Back when I had those old Fiery's on BizHub C253 & C451's I only used Win XP to re-write the system software. Used a crossover cable if i remember correctly. Only had a few machines with Fiery's (Thank God)

    Re: Fiery Reload.... IC-409

That worked, had to install XP on a old laptop and use a crossover cable. Fiery's working v1.1

But the C451 is not... has intermittent power off when waking from sleep. Like power supply is failing. Maybe a swollen cap or 3. Worse when FIERY plugged in, less when plugged into separate outlet.
Should i just replace the power supply?

personally i would just disable sleep mode entirely.
happy to hear the Fiery restore worked.

I have found the you can have the ISO file on a USB and right click it and select "mount" in Windows 10 it will behave just like a cd/dvd.
