Went on a call for a C0208 error and found this piece laying in the machine. Can anyone help identity it? Would this be causing the error?km282 part.jpg

That error is not associated with that part. The C0208 is a lift error for paper tray 4. Check behind the tray for paper caught back there.
The part is from the exit area (paper stack holding arm) on one of the worst style finishers ever made. It's not overly difficult to snap it back in place. It goes on a shaft in the middle of the exit area. If you look inside the exit area on the finisher you should see similarly colored plastic attached to a shaft in there. That piece snaps in between if my memory serves me correctly.
I'm not at the office currently, so I have no access to parts or service manuals for that model of copier (since they are no longer available on Konica's site) or I would grab a picture of it's location to try and help you out.

Here is a pic from the parts manual, should help you get the part to where it needs to be reattached.
