    Biz Hub c458

Looking to purchase some older machines Biz Hub C458. Any thoughts on these models? I have been away from the Konica Minolta for a while not really my choice even though that is where I started many years ago. Do you still have to replace ALL the drums and DV at the same time or will this machine allow for one replacement at a time? Also can you swap out components from other machines for diagnostic purposes or are they proprietary?
    Thanks guys

a few boards can be swapped however some are married to the original machine and are a real duckfart to adapt to the new machine. (if at all)

Out of all the KM models I would say the 8 series is one of the best & most reliable model.

The later i series seem to have a number of issues & are not so well built.

I would just add 'Go for them!'

If you really liked the xx4e series (like most of us), the xx8 series is almost as good. The xx4e series could conceivably get 200% yield on drums and developing units. That will never happen on the xx8 series. If you get 100% yield, that unit is done ... finito. Otherwise very similar. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

i like the 8 series, most of the drums go way over life, had a C458 that had gone 3 and a half times it's life (350%), i know of a C308 that has Magenta drum currently at 237% and its Yellow drum at 175% , but it's the only thing i insist on using genuine KM parts, I've tried compatible drums and they are sh*t, i do convert black drums to colour though
Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...

Same here with K drums conversion. I think drums last past life in machines with low coverage but highly used. Any one seeing low monthly counts and 7-8% coverage and drums are ready to be replaced before their duty cycle.

I still like the 4 series better than the 8 series. I haven't had good luck with the drums lasting in the 8 series. As I've mentioned before PCR rollers suck for copier drums and should be used on desktop printers only. I'm sure this was planned by Kon/Min to sell more drums.

Besides of that possibility, could it be also because of as an attempt to reduce the ozone production in the machine?

Yes. Evidence is lack of ozone filter in 8 series.
