    About Reset Tools

    Hi,

i've stumbled across a few posts by now stating that there are no known reset tools for newer machines.
Because i was bored a bit today i decided to take a look into it
I've extracted the tar files content and checked it for any difference.

For your understanding, i'll share the content of all INDEX Files inside the tar:

What we notice here is the following:
TYP= is different for all tools. But except for some greek gods i was not able to find anything about those Names on the internet.
I am currently going through firmware and moviedata files to find the TYP= definition. My hope is to be able to take/modify this part and insert it in firmware of newer i-models for example.
As the settings are all pretty much the same over multiple series, i only slightly doubt that they changed. However, it is very likely that the values or whole procedure changed as konica did not bother to make a new tool yet.
As a field tech, it would be nice to have it on a stick though.

I'll post news about this as soon as i get them.
If anyone got more information especially on the TYP= please share it with me

    Re: About Reset Tools

The reset tool for the IT5 (”8”) series works also for the IT6 (”i”) models.

    Re: About Reset Tools

Those are Series Names or Family Names.

    Minerva 0Bk is a bizhub 754
    Minerva 1Bk is bizhub 654

    ZeusS BK1st is bizhub 308, 368, 458, 558
    ZeusS BK2nd is bizhub 308e, 368e, 458e, 558e, 658e

The A145FW.tar file is for the bizhub C754 (Minerva 0)/C754e/C654 (Minerva 1)/C654e/C554 (Zeus X)/C554e
    /C454 (Zeus 0)/C454e (Zeus0 MLK)/C364 (Zeus 1)/C364e (Zeus1 MLK)/C284 (Zeus 2)/C284e (Zeus2 MLK)/C224 (Zeus 3)/C224e (Zeus3 MLK).
I don't have a reference for: GaiaPF ... so I cannot offer you a suggestion as how to edit that series name.

Gaia is the Earth Goddess or an AlphardI Gaia (Kyocera KM-3500i, KM-4500i, KM-5500i).

This is only interesting trivia ... probably won't help you with your task. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

This i actually good information to confirm what i suspected, thanks.
I still need to find where it is located in firmware/software of the MFPs so i can work out a patch for it.
Thanks for the information, it is very usefull

Please excuse me for recognizing a missing piece: How should the .tar file be named, to be properly recognized by the specific model?

(And thank you for information. I promise only to harm myself with this information.) =^..^=

Luckily, for the most part updating firmware, reset files, LDD, movie data, it's all "Sailor Proof". I'm sure you will find a way to brick your machine before too long. I can't wait for the "can anyone help me fix this tragic accident?????"

Jotunn is right about the models. The gods set the models.

But opening an index file in Notepad doesn't show what it is capable of doing.

If you open it in programming software, you'll see how much you've written and the infinite chances of going wrong if you don't know what to do
    Nothing like day after day

I have a few machines dont are physically not able to print stuff anymore that i can use for some try & error.
Anyways, as long as KM publishes their original os, you can almost all the time recover stuff
