The lady boss saw a brochure with the BH-554e and she became in love......

I told her about the problems but I'm afraid she will insist. I suggested to carry on 6 months with the good working old machines until de "e"-problems are solved but since she is the boss in that company and she already announced it to her staff............

Is it just the "e" models with all the issues? So the C284 is OK only the C284e has issues?

I wouldn't be discouraged from selling them. Not every one has the issue. The issues from what I see are small percentage compared to the population of these we have in the field but the problems are enough that it is of concern.

The latest firmware is available for the complete E series so should be applied asap.

Yes... Unfortunately the 4th machine in 2 weeks time now with SSD problem... All C284e machines were the new type with single beam laser-units with GD1-A9 firmware installed.... Could someone share the release notes of the new C8 firmware, it's not available yet in my language...

    This.

We only have one with this problem. But we have a handful in the field(knock on wood) with no issue. According to the bulletin, fw should be released in a few days to correct the problem.

I don't see this firmware here in the US. Also I usually get information emailed direct from KM when they release these things. What site do you see such firmware.

This is the latest FW version in The UK as of 27 Jan 2014, G20-C8, having a read I see it does address many issues.

I can confirm this. We have rolled out a large number of e machines ranging from C224e to C654e. We've had a handful that have either had "preparing scan/fax" message never dissapearing, but that's about it. None of ours have had SSD boards fail yet (knock on wood).

How did you solve this? We have one doing this, so far we have tried FW and replaced the HDD.
