Maybe tray would blocked during moving by something, or tray holder deformed.
Since you say resetting the code works for a while, I would suspect that you have a sensor flag hanging up randomly. What model are you working on? A little more info would help nail down what is going on.Originally Posted by Stevea

1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.

I am getting C8160 on a few taskalfa 4052ci with the inner finisher, seems to be a problem when the exit tray lowers,gears ,belt and motor look ok.
Anyone had this issue?
I am having same issue on a TA 3552ci. Internal finisher 7100.

i couldn't find any as part of the tray mechanism.
So the spring that breaks on me is in the paper feed section in df7100 parts fig 3 item 19 spring guide upper. You can reform it and will work until you get a new one assuming that is the issue. I would advise removing finisher from machine to remove some covers from it.
