They just won the #1 most dependable color unit on the market by BLI. They are doing something right

The SP4520 has an op panel that is very similar to the Kyoceras, but the engine is totally different. I can see how you would think that it's a Kyocera, but I don't think so.

The MP501 clearly is a rebadged Kyocera. There is no doubt. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

What other brand has 1 or 2 screws to take off back cover?

They may be behind but my point was they're always moving in the right direction. IMHO.

Sharp makes advances but then steps backwards with their feed rollers, for example.

    Talking Re: I Love Kyocera

Kyocera improved a lot in the area of design and technology. But lacking in terms of reliability.
The latest machines are very good in terms of quality . But lacking in low quality Body design . Earlier Kyocera Mita was well known for its strong Body design. particularly lower end machines.(KM2050-2530-4050) The day to day usage of doors and document processors are unavoidable . but these new series are not at all reliable to users. The broken DP base and side doors are best examples.

As a tech i am love kyocera for its spillage free imaging area and Long life Drum units.
