And you still can't order the equipment. Hmmm, doesn't engender a lot of faith when you can't get the box and they are already posting fixes.

Certainly not as bad as other brands I’ve seen over the years, and don’t get me started on HP/SamsungKyocera 7003i 8003i and 9003i

I may be new to the world of copiers, but not to technology in general, and what you're saying sounds like a bit ridiculous.

any time any new product/piece of technology comes out, it is riddled with bugs and problems.

You would be happier if they in fact weren't fixing these issues before the were available to the public?

The point is the product has not been released yet so any firmware fixes should be installed at the factory before the equipment is released. Posting firmware fixes for equipment that is not yet released is ridiculous and clearly intimates a lack of foresight and planning.

Or does it clearly indicate an attempt at transparency?

I’ve visited the factories of two different brands and I can assure you development hasn’t stopped just because the first shipments are in boxes and at the wharves. These machines may have in fact been in boxes months before they land at their destination. The maturity of the machines firmware is a balance between the engineers signing off and the market demanding the release.. some companies send out well sorted machines with few bugs and others seem to be scrambling to release product that has no business being released and is still struggling with even basic functionality six months later. I’ve dealt with Kyocera for many years and a firmware release before I’ve even seen the machine does not worry me in the slightest.

The first few months are always like this. There will be firmware update 3 or 4 times in each of the first three months. Often it never makes it down to us before the next version arrives. You'll see two or three letters skipped. It does taper off after that. It's entirely normal and expected.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

New firmware and drivers continue to come out as Microsoft, Apple, Adobe and others make their updates that cause problems and errors for the units. Kyocera tends to be very proactive IMHO.
