FS-6530mfp out of memory
Hello, I have a site that has one of these installed, and they say when they make a copy it pops up this error that it’s out of memory. It doesn’t matter how many pages, it’s happened with a single page doing one copy. It typically isn’t used as a printer, just a copier. It has the latest firmware installed. We are about to purchase a 1gb stick of ram for it to see if it fixes it unless anyone has a better solution. Believe at one point we have already changed out the main board.

Re: FS-6530mfp out of memory
have you tried turning off "RAM Disk" under the system menu? It reserve blocks of memory for features such as Private Print and Job Box. Remember to turn it off on the Print Driver as well.

Does the machine also have a Fax installed? Shutting the machine off with the switch should fix the error, sometimes these machines just get confused if they are never shut off (used as a Fax always on)... the memory is cheap, put it in and crank up the RAM setting in the System Menu - System settting

Re: FS-6530mfp out of memory
Unfortunately this ram is built onto the board as far as I can see

Re: FS-6530mfp out of memory
Have you checked the status of print jobs? Is there a print job that has not printed and using all the memory? The ram memory is shared between copy and print and if you have a print job that is hung up for whatever reason and is using up all the memory it will affect the ability of the unit to use memory for copy jobs.

Re: FS-6530mfp out of memory
I did check, as I thought initially that it was a print from a windows driver instead of kx driver. But they don’t print to the machine, it’s more or less just a copy machine. Which is why this is odd, it’s happened several times before, thought changing the main board would have fixed the problem.
