    Reset MK message on FS 1370dn

    Hi Guys,
    I am Ricoh by trade but have a couple of little kyocera printers out in the wild. An (ex) colleague of mine, conveniently as of today did a call the other day and replaced a drum, a fuser and possibly even dev although I'm only 10% sure of that.
    Customer just phoned me up today and said it has the reset MK message on it, I am guessing he never reset the counters on the parts. If this were a larger Kyocera/UTAX I would be able to do it but on the little printers how do you do it? I have seen a message saying 'Menu - Adjust/Maintenance - Service - Maintenance' Then you press ok on it twice and it resets. I have one of these in my office and thought I better have a go on this first as it's just a used printer that i'll be getting rid of soon anyway. It doesn't have the last Maintenance option on it it just has the options to print status page, print network page, print test page or developer. I know selecting developer would initialise it once printer is turned off and back on but cannot see a way to reset this maintenance message? I bet it is so simple. Can't see it on service manual either. Help would be greatly appreciated.

    The reason you can't see it on the your office machine is because it's not calling for it. It will only appear when the 100,000 copy interval has been reached.

    You might try sending this PreScribe command: !R! KCFG "LFRE","DRUM",0;EXIT;

    Note: any value can be set, not just 0. =^..^=
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    I edited my above post. There is an old family of printers that needs a NEW drum when the MK light appears. But i looked again at this model's manual and I believe you'll see the maintenance reset when you're on site.

    Oh so it was just bad luck it was bad and needed to be changed 2 days before it hit its PM limit. So in theory I could phone up and say press menu, up right up right ok ok or whatever the sequence would be and they would see this maintenance button that I can't see on my test one.
    Not sure how to do prescribe funtions, is that on the kyoceras web interface?
