Pin Point will not STAY LIVE on computer
Have a customer that the Pin Point will not work one day to the next. I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and then it works, but the next day it does not. Have asked the customer to try and restarting the computer and they said no we need this fixed. Is there a way to keep Pin Point 'ALIVE" so it works like it should. I have one customer that has this problem. Running windows 10 PRO and all updates have been installed and the latest version of Pin Point installed. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Pin Point will not STAY LIVE on computer
I've seen something similar, but never on a consistent basis. Its like they have closed the app, if they will go to the start menu and programs and click on pinpoint it will start back up....At least this is how I've remedied the issue in the past. It will be interesting to know if there is a real fix to this issue though and Ill keep an eye on this thread.

Re: Pin Point will not STAY LIVE on computer
Other than the customer closing the app I have never seen it turn itself off. Customer is either disabling the app or they have a software that is doing it for them.

Re: Pin Point will not STAY LIVE on computer
Talked to Kyocera about this issue and their recommendation is what I found in the Pin Point manual after reading it.
Network Ports and Protocols
UDP Multicast on group 239.255.255.248 and Port 5360
UDP Unicast o Port 5360
TCP Port 19091 ( and above )
Make sure that these ports are open and not blocked by a Firewall or Anti Virus software.
They said that after uninstalling and reinstalling Pin Point it MAKES the connection. But after a while the Firewall or Anti Virus software kicks back in and blocks the communication between Pin Point on the machine and the computer.

Re: Pin Point will not STAY LIVE on computer
I was going to ask if it's running as a service & to start & restart if an error occurs. If it's running in the system tray & you can't scan, it's a firewall issue. If it's not in the system tray, that's a different issue.
