406ci opinion on print quality & reliability

The 406ci seems to be a pretty good machine.
Does it have reliable, long term color print quality?
Not just graphs and charts, but brochure type printing quality? Photos?
Is there a better model for this type of printing?
My customer has been using a 400ci, with constant print quality issues,
    but doesn't need 11x17 capabilities

    Whatcha think?
    thanks

I can recommend the KM-3552ci or KM-3553ci (or others of the same family). We haven't placed any of the 406ci, so I can't really comment on reliability. It wouldn't take much to improve on a Saturn. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I have always been of he opinion on these series, if you are not a dealer...they could get expensive to maintain over time. Price out the color maintenance kit replacement ...$$$$. Most dealers for Kyocera/Copystar lease these out and replace them before it's time to replace the costly color maintenance kit and if they do replace it, it's usually done under the 3 year warranty.

... sounds like the exact same business model for Lexmark A4 C4140/C4150 colour copiers. It is a good product but only profitable if you place it where you know the lease will expire before the expensive consumables will expire. A lot of perfectly good copiers get land-filled because they are not economic to refurbish.

This machine would fall in the business color space. "Charts and graphs" if you will. Anyone that needs a copier for marketing should invest in a production machine with fiery. That's just a rule of thumb. Your results may vary and paper quality matters !

    Sad but true.
