One out of 100 , sometimes if two sets are run it will happen on one of the pages but not on next set.

The image you provided, is it a print or a copy? Would make a world of difference as to what is going on.
I'm going to guess that it's a laser failure or possible image processing error. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Also replaced drum and updated firmware N/G , got spec ial reset firmware from Kyocera because of bad directions in SM about resets when replacing drum. No help
The only reason I do not believe laser is it is very random , does not blow any codes and only happens on legal .
Image Processing are we talking boards ?
I agree with blackcat regarding laser.
You can see sharp edges, sharp edges are related to LK unit.
Have seen several cases because of some electric noise or broken laser itselfs.
E.g. see Bulletin 2ND-0144(J190) from Taskalfa 4002ci because of electric noise on wiring
Looks nearby similar to your problem.
Have seen it also om Mercury range, on Tomcat range and so on.
At these systems, exchange from LK unit solved the problem.

the fact that you got a NG when doing update leads me to believe you have a bigger issue to sort out.
you have to clear the NG before advancing onto other problems,
did you bother cleaning any sensors?
like maybe the ones on the belt?
clean all sensors.. try the Update and calibration adjustments again
I think that the paper size is set wrong.
