Post Cyan stripes on Kyocera TASKalfa 3050ci

    Hi out there,

this is Bjoern from Hamburg, Germany! (We don´t have any nice forum like this available in germany :-))

Maybe someone could help my with the Printer i got here. It´s about an Kyocera TASKalfa 3050ci which prints nice, except when you use cyan color on the page. So the Problem is not happing when printing BK only.

I scanned a printed Page - you can see the problem here really good, i marked it with the red boxes.

    problem.jpg

So the problem is, that it´s printing some blue stripes on the page - they seem to be repeating, also there are some smaller markers on the bottom.

The used toner cartdridge is original from kyocera but nearly empty.
I thought about a dirty wiper on the drum? Is this possible?
Or could a change of the cartridge help?

I did a laser and drum clean from the menu already.

I hope someone can give me an idea.

Thank you! Have a good day!
    Bjoern

Assuming that your document is A4 fed LEF, this is a classic cyan primary charge failure ... the interval will be 37.5mm (I had to do a little manipulating of the thumb sized image to figure out the approximate interval).

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Hey,

thank you so much for your answer! :-)

    Yes, it´s printed on A4! :-)

So i just need to replace the primary charger which is Kyocera MC-8720 Main Charger 302NH93071, correct?
    Is it hard to replace?

Yes. Easy. You'll need to remove the toner hopper:

-Open the front door, and remove the waste bottle and it's drawer.
    -Remove the (4) toner cartridges.
-Remove the small chrome screw that lets you open up the shutter on the front of the hopper. This will reveal (4) Phillips plastic pieces. For each you press in, and rotate 1/4 turn to unlock. Careful! They break easily.
-Remove screw to open wiring cover, and unplug the hopper.
-Remove three screws in very deep wells.
-Release latches at far right and far left to lift off toner hopper assembly.

You can see the primary charge units now.

Re-assemble in the reverse. Be sure to re-lock those (4) plastic pieces on re-assembly or your waste toner will back up. Be sure to clear the cyan charge counter U930. A color calibration helps improve the copy quality but is not absolutely necessary.

Remember, on the older style primary charge units with a bunny brush type cleaner it's possible to clean the charge rollers with water or glass cleaner. Just make sure they are completely dry before re-installing. New style primary charge units with the helical foamy cleaner cannot be cleaned. If you do, you will get 1mm round dots at 37.5mm intervals. Never clean new style charge rollers.

Have fun. Let us know how you do. =^..^=

No need as BC pinned it down but you can swap around cyan drum unit with another one to isolate the fault.

    IMG_20200418_232641.jpg

The stripes are gone now, but i already ordered the primary charge as replacement because the cyan one i cleaned looked really bad:
    IMG_20200418_233536.jpg
Does anyone know why this happens to the primary charge what you can see on the image? Im just interested and want to learn.
