I've seen this resolved by the developing unit. =^..^=

Re: Kyocera 7002i thick solid black line

I fixed this problem yesterday. It was kicking my butt for awhile until it became more frequent. Its the ground bearing for the drum shaft. I was able to confirm the problem before I cleaned it and then after. Pull out the shaft and pull off the drum motor. Clean the bearing and the shaft where the bearing sits. If you have a new bearing use it. Once I cleaned the bearing the continuity was firm. At first a though the problem was with ground to neutral high voltage. I was getting from my Sure Tester anywhere between 1.5 to 10 volts. It would start first thing in the morning and then go away after the first 50 copies with about 5 copies having the black bands. Happen every morning and then go away.

BTW- I was getting no continuity off the bearing before I cleaned the bearing and shaft. As the bearing moves it makes for a good ground hence the reason why it only happens on start up first thing in the morning. Machine has 3M plus on it.

    Good luck

Sorry to report that the Drum ground did not resolve the issue. Went back to the account and had the same black stripes as shown on your sample. Needless to say I was Bummed out. The Drum ground continuity is good after I cleaned the bearing and shaft but to be on the safe side I replaced it anyway. The Drum and DV units were also replaced but did not help with this issue. Im going to replace the connector for the main charge plus the HV board. Need to remove the Drum shaft again to remove the Main charge connector. At this rate I can do it with my eyes close. Will update you if that works

    i agree with toddanderson.
At first change belt and check grounding from it.
New belt solved 2 cases, on other case only exchange from complete conveying unit fixed it.

We put a new transfer belt in it today and will see what happens, I'll report back on if it fixed it or not.

Well we put in a new transfer belt assembly and it hasn't done it since until yesterday and now again today only this time is was worse with almost half of the screen black but little white lines in between the thick black ones. I am to the point now where the HV board is the last idea to do on this. Have you had anymore issues after you replaced yours?

Now that the problem is occurring more on a regular basis, I would suggest trying to isolate the problem by turning the power off during the print process and looking at the printed image on the drum. And then on the transfer belt. It may be tricky shutting the power off at the correct time. Probably gonna take a few tries. But at least you can use this method to isolate the problem.
