Kyocera KM-2560 Powers up but blank screen?

Hi All,

I have a Kyocera KM-2560 that was working perfectly.

18 month ago we moved house, the machine was wrapped in plastic and stored in the shed until this weekend.

It powers up and seems to make all the correct noises, but the screen goes from "loading software" to blank, I've power cycled it a few times with the same issue.

I have read a few posts with same issue, one suggestion was to boot it without the memory module installed. I've done that and no good.

Most threads I have found suggest it needs a firmware update from a USB.

I have taken the underside cover off the display/control board and I think I have located the boot toggle micro switch.

The issue I have now is I cant find the firmware anywhere to download to create a USB and try it?

Can anyone help me with a firmware copy, or have any other ideas as to what it might be?

We're in strict lockdown in Melbourne now and I'm working from home, hence resurrecting the machine. I'll be a bit stuck trying to get a tech out to the house under these lockdowns.

This should get you to the right page, the firmware is down towards the bottom.
Version 2.49, however you will need a KDA connect login to get it.

Since they have it behind a login wall I don't intend to upload the actual file for you, don't want to inadvertently break their TOS. Good luck.

No other place I can get one? I can't get a login for that.

We had our copier tech out last week to replace the drums on the office Ricoh, I asked if they would take a look at the Kyocera before they came out and he told me to bin it, it wasn't worth the effort of looking ta it.

Frustrating, as it sounds like it's powering up properly. I'm loathed to throw it away (was printing well before).

I just want to at least try the firmware trick, see if that brings it back to life, otherwise it'll be another contribution to landfill.

i have a km-3650 with the same issue, powers up but no display. any help would be appreciated?

if it is a km model. if firmware doesn't fix it. you can no longer get parts for those models, they are so old.
