Problems Registering used machine with KFS

Having problems trying to register a used machine with KFS. I go thru al the steps, Network settings, turn Remote services on, go into Server setting and input the Access code and then to Submit and I get the following error. "Cannot register to the server. Server communication error. 403". Went into u520 and under Registration and TDRS User all the setting are grayed out and the same for the setting under Access Code. I can go into Information and see setting already there and I can turn the Config On and Off. Has this machine already been register by some one else? Is there a way around this? Reformatting the hard drive? Have already reloaded the full firmware for this model.

    Thanks

You can try accessing these settings through the command center as well.

    User Name: RSAdmin
    Password: RSAdmin

I'm not sure if this will help, but it's worth a shot.

Kyocera may have to delete this machine from KFS for you if you don't know who the previous dealer was.

How do you access the Command Center? Never done that before.

    Thanks

That's just what Kyocera calls the web interface you access via the machine's IP Address through a browser.

Well DUH I should have known that. But I have already been logged in and tried to connect it to KFS that way. That is where I get the error.

Ok. Logging in with the RSAdmin credentials in the Command Center will allow you to do the same thing U520 does. This comes in handy for machines (like printers) that don't have this maintenance mode available. My guess is you will need to contact Kyocera and ask them about specifics with the error code you are getting. Let us know what you find out.

An error 403 is an error you would get if the page you are trying to access is blocked. It's possible that the customer needs to allow access to https://rfs-us.kyocera.biz We've had to do this in a school district before. See if you can access KFS from the customer's location. If you're setting this up in your office this error could be totally unrelated. I'm curious to see what you find out.

Trying to set this up in our office before we take it to the customer. Have contacted the old Dealer and he said he would check and if it is already register he would unregister it.

You might check to see that the MFP's DNS is set correctly. What I'll usually do is connect my laptop to the network drop and let DHCP assign an address. Then from Command Prompt > ipconfig/all > enter > you'll see what DNS (or DNS1 & DNS2) has been assigned to your laptop. I will usually assign to the MFP the value you see as DNS1 and 8.8.8.8 as DNS2.

    Then try again. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
