I finally found the default setting for High Compression PDF in the command center. It's not in the common default settings for scan. It's at the very bottom of the same page right below the Copy Default Settings. Strange but whatever.

you always have sim 340 to adjust memory more towards the copier side rather than the printing
I'm looking at sim. 340 but from my understanding it doesn't have anything to do with allocating additional memory for scanning...which is the problem I was having. Thanks, though, I learned something new.
Edit: After further review, you may be right. It says the adjustments are for print and copy but if you copy from the RADF that is scanning in a way. I'll investigate further.

Also, big shoutout to bsm2 and santander. I followed the advise given by both at 3 separate locations for this client and now it all works like a charm. Thanks, guys.
