Welcome back to the slowly disappearing ever-changing world of copier technology! I miss the old days of just being a mechanic and not dealing with scan issues, etc. However, with that being said, I do enjoy learning the technological aspects of our industry, too and i learn a lot from this site and all the great techs that are willing to share their knowledge with other techs and believe me, I still have a ton to learn! This site has definitely made me a better tech and I can always turn to it for knowledge from others who have made the mistakes, including myself.
Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

Back in the day when I was a fulltime tech, I was factory trained on every Sharp copier that was out at the time and knew all about the older models that were in the field. I'm talking about the analog boxes. It got to be boring because it was the same ol' sh!t all the time. I got excited when I ran across a challenging problem. I left that company about a year after the new digital copiers were released. Then I went into business for myself several years later as a Kyocera-Mita dealer and was factory trained on a few of their machines but didn't really work on them that much. I was too busy with other stuff.
I, too, am a technology junkie. I love all the things that today's MFP's will do. And it really benefits the customer. But I fear MFP's have reached the point of the I-Phone. Nothing innovative has come out in years. Not really.
