    TA-3551ci: C6950 error code

    Just got a call from a local church (yes, on Sunday.) and the machine has a C6950 error code.

    The manual says it can be one of 4 PWBs:

    1. Power Source Board
    2. Feed PWB
    3. Fuser IH Board
    4. Engine PWB

    Any insight would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Re: TA-3551ci: C6950 error code

    This is the one time I came across the C6950:

    "C6950". After attempting firmware machine remains locked in a firmware error "IH firmware 0801", and "Scan 0801", even when powered on in normal mode.

    23.9vdc is absent at YC12 pins 1, 2, & 3 on the low voltage power supply. 5vdc is present at pin 4, & ground at pins 5, 6, 7, & 8. DSPF PWB is not properly fitted to the Main PWB.

    Re-seat DSPF PWB. Replace Low Voltage Power Supply (302N494081). Rename firmware file [DL_CTRL.2N4] to [KM_EMRG.2N4], and load firmware (emergency firmware load).
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    Dude, you never cease to impress me. So all I need to do is rename the firmware and that's considered emergency firmware?

    The old style LV PWB are notorious for this failure. Pull off the back cover and see if it has the old style pwb, it has the bottom right cut out, almost like an upside down L cut out. If its the old style you need to replace it.

    Just replace the malfunctioning pwb with an old repaired LV PWB, because the holder plates are different for the new updated LV PWB, order it from Hytec.

    I see what you're talking about with the cut out on the right lower side. Thanks again.

    @Billy
    see additional KDC info regarding C6950.
    @blackcat and others
    you also can use special FW upgrade procedure to eleminate "stuck in FW upgrade".
    By this procedure you can delete the "FW error flag" and get back original error screen without "FW error****, 0801"
    e.g.
    1. FW upgrade during C6950/ F040 error message
    2. system stucks in "error IH pwb, 0801", "mail bin error, 0801" or else...
    3. upgrading from CTRL(main), ENG(engine) + Panl(panel) only
    4. C6950/ F040 error message again, no more stuck in FW error after restart
    5. Exchange from low voltage pwb
    6. running complete FW upgrade without ES_Skip.on file
    7. Done, system repaired, no more error.
    See enclosed sample leaflet.
    (Also works on other systems like Alphard 1, Mercury, Tomcat, but won`t work on Iris series, because "FW error flag" would stored on SSD PWB instead of HDD or operation panel!!!)
