    3551ci, color difference

I have 2 3551ci's in the shop. Both using OEM toner. One has 100k on it. The other has 50k. When I print out the test charts there's a difference in color. See test charts below. Notice the difference in the last row of color. One is magenta and the other looks purple. There's also a more slight difference in the blue.

Maybe someone with more experience than me can give me a clue. Thanks. See below:

Run toner curve or it maybe called auto gradation...that should fix it

I've done all of that. Ran multiple calibrations. Nothing changes.

I'm thinking the problem lies in the cyan DV unit. Blue + red = purple and the blue looks off to me.

More likely it is drum than developer unit. It's easier if you print full bleed solid patterns CMYK at 100% and at 50% density. Also one good thing I learned from Kyocera they use green pattern to actually determine Yellow color conditions(too weak itself).

That's interesting. This should be a good learning experience for me as I have never encountered this problem before. I wanted to get some advice before I started swapping parts/supplies. I don't think I have any 100% solid test patterns. I have all the other ones.

Well you have 2 machines next to each other start swapping parts to narrow it down.

For example first swap all drums & go from there.

Are they both on the same firmware version?

Both have latest firmware and it's the best firmware in the world....I got it from you.

On a serious note, I'll try swapping the drums first and see what happens.

Good place to start with just mark all of them BEFORE start swapping or you can be a bit confused at the end. I would start first with K and C drums. Also in the future please try to give us not machine total counter especially they're color models so counter 100k may well be something like 95k black + 5k color as well as 40k black + 60k color(big difference in parts life counters = wear).
