If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I just got back from the machine and it wasn't the the side door that was open..it was the small door at the top of the copier that wasn't closed good. I'm talking about the door at the switchback unit for the finisher. Like someone else said, the machine wasn't showing the door was open because it was showing black toner was empty and the machine couldn't clear that toner empty condition because the door was open.
It really pisses me off at myself for not figuring it out sooner. I'll know better next time.
You won't have to repeat that one. When you have to think that hard on a fix, it sticks. =^..^=

I meant to follow up on this post.
So, I recreated the toner empty (with door open) scenario here at the office.
I noticed that at the very bottom of the LCD screen, in very small letters, it says "main unit open".
I swear that I didn't see it on the customer's machine. But I must admit that it would be easy to miss.
The important thing here is that no one makes fun of me. This problem already made me feel like an idiot.
PS - It doesn't make any difference what door is ajar, the screen still says: MAIN UNIT OPEN.
