Shift guide sensor no voltage PF-7110 8052ci

Sorry should be DF-7110 Document Finisher.

Got a really strange one paddle gear inside the finisher was snapped in half so replaced that... Put everything back together thought looking good. Machine fires up, finisher starts to cycle gets to the shift paddle they move out then the machine cant see they have reached home position so the motors just continue driving till you get machine gun noise. I checked the sensors with the door shut as it cycles and they aren't getting any voltage so I guess that's why the machine cant see that its reached their home position.

I'm about to go back with the board. I did find 24v at the pf main pwb and the machine is working fine with the PF disconnected. I'm armed with the pin layout this time so I can check if its receiving 3v 5v 24v from the machine.

Any ideas? anything stupid that would cause the sensors to not be getting voltage? or anything else that can cause the finisher to suddenly not calibrate and go off the rails?

You must have a connector poorly fitted (as you probably assume too).

Were it me, I'd identify a sensor name for the home sensor (like PS2), then search it on the circuit diagram to find out where it arrives at the finisher controller, and check your voltages there. You can let the machine warm up with the front door open and do your testing in this way, so that it doesn't try to find home, or error out.

If you're still are not getting 5vdc supply voltage at the sensor connector at the finisher controller, disconnect that connector and check again. That 5v supply line may be pinched to frame ground. If it still does not have 5vdc at that connector, remove all the connectors from the finisher PWB except the cables from the machine, and see if your 5vdc has returned. If it's still gone, check at the supply cables from the machine.

A pinched wire pulling down the 5vdc could be anywhere in the harness. =^..^=

Thank you yeah I was thinking that. I hope it is a pinched wire that I've some how caught.

I wasn't sure if the door is open should it still supply voltage to the sensors or not?

Found it paddle senors on the inside of the finisher sit on a metal plate that isn't part of the frame. The metal had popped out...

Funny cause I was stirring right at it the other day but I was focused on checking the sensors hasn't popped out want really looking at the metal 🤣.
