    307ci with light cyan

I am working on a 307ci, which is getting light cyan on everything printed. I started with changing the cyan drum and developer and updating firmware. After that did not work, I cleaned the ID sensors, and LSU. Last thing I did was swap out the main engine board which also did not help.

It is getting some system errors.

    C7620: Color regist timing error
C7601: ID sensor 1 (front) error
C7612: Bias calibration reading value C error

When I try color registration correction (U469), I get error SFFF. When I try Half Tone adjustment (U410), it scans the first page through fine, but 2nd page gets an error of E002.
I am not sure if this is a symptom of the light cyan, or more clues to what the issue may be.

Later today I am going to try to swap out the LSU.

If anyone else has anything suggestions, I am all ears!

    Thanks!

Assuming when you changed the dv and drum you initialized drum with u119 and u140 for dv LSU or transfer belt could cause this issue. latest firmware is always a bonus.

    Is it a dirty environment?

Though it's unlikely that the cyan parts of the laser are dirty and the YMK are not ... it's certainly possible. I'd start by examining the laser.

The cyan primary charge roller may also be a problem. If you were adventurous you might swap primary charge rollers ... say magenta and cyan, to see if the problem changed.

Yes, your errors are directly related to the poor cyan fill in the charts.

Print something with heavy cyan and stop the machine mid-process so you can pull the drum to check the surface. If you have good cyan coverage on the drum you may be losing cyan transfer to the belt. Check belt and belt contacts for cyan transfer roller.

If you have crappy coverage on the drum you're back to LSU, bias voltages, etc.

These shouldn't have 119. There was special firmware just released because the early firmware had 119 and it can cause problems if you ran it. It's been removed in the latest firmware.
    Hope that helps !

The u119 u140 kinda confuses me as they say to run it which I do anyway but turn machine off replace drum and machine definitely detects the new drum as it goes through a full calibration cycle then you do it again?

They do need to make these more fool proof. If you swapped yellow and black round permanently without doing u119 etc would it be ok or not?

I've been told to keep everything as it is so leave k in k c in c but some times im like mmm if I move that cyan to black it's gonna last a lot longer if the customer didn't do colour much.

I would remove the MC from cyan to check if i get solid image on the DK.
If i have 0V potential on DK surface i must get full solid color(without margins)if there is no problem with DV high voltage.
Still light image, check DV HVT contacts at first.
(I know it`s a terrible work on this system)

If you look at the sheet inside the drum unit, you're only supposed to run 119 on the 40ppm machines. It was in the codes on the 30 & 35 models, and can cause image issues if it's run after replacing the drum. 119 has since been removed from firmware so it's no longer available to even execute on the 30 & 35, mistakenly.

I agree on the swapping of units for troubleshooting etc.
    Hope that helps !

    Re: 307ci with light cyan

Turns out the contact for cyan to the transfer belt was bent just enough that when I put the transfer belt in, it was not making solid contact, but looked ok when the belt was out. After fiddling with that for a bit, was able to get it straight, and cyan came back!

    Thanks for everyone's help!
