Is the Cf27a error code related the the HDD? I looked it up in the service manual in Sec. 7-101, I just want to confirm I am looking at the correct code.

"An error has occurred in the System Management System"
1) Reformat HDD U024 FULL
2) Initialize Backup Memory U021
3) Replace Main PWB
4) Replace HDD
5) Retrieve USBLOG and contact SAD
per Bulletin C031-2LC-0057 Jan 2012
Do I know what it means? Nope.
I haven't seen this code before. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I read the same thing, Blackcat, and also have never run across this code either. I did run a U021 and will try to run a full format on the hdd to see if it resolves this code or I may even swap out the HDD. This is an off lease machine and I am just prepping it for a sale.
I have a question... I do not fully understand #5. Do you have any idea what the usblog is?
... and sending it to somebody at Kyocera. Which somebody? Again I don't know. =^..^=

USBLOG is submitted to KDC for problem analysis via Kyocera support channel(KDA).
The mode is not listed and the file it creates is protected and cannot be read.
Whenever a ‘C’ code occurs the MFP doesn’t tell you to turn it off right away, it says ‘Please wait’ and something about gathering data. During that period it is building USBLOG.
If you have a tech ID contact 1-800-438-6482 (For America’s) and start a case. They can direct you to the USBLOG procedure.
I will defer to KYO_OEM as to his level of support.
That general class is Print process type error check driver version, try KPDL emulation on the KX driver and update firmware ofc.
