I put mine in silent mode as much as possible to minimize damage! A few customers hate that though! to slow for them

    Re: FK-8550 Shortage

We send all our machines out with a 30 minute sleep time and ALWAYS turn on silent mode on the A3 boxes. Perhaps this is why you guys have fuser issues and we don’t ? Have been using silent mode since the 3050 series.

Why is it when I put any of these machines into Silent Mode, the first thing that pops into my mind is "he who smelt it, dealt it"?

but customers complain that it is slower!

Sorry for my thickness but what does silent mode do? Just totally cut power to fuser after printing?

Silent Mode puts the machine immediately into sleep mode when print job ends, but leaves the operation panel functions usable. So you can program the next job, and when you press Start the printer wakes up again. It's particularly handy when you've got an enduser sitting right next to the MFP, and they listen to it "rumble, rumble, rumble ... " fuser idling all day long.

Naturally it does add warmup time to every print, more time the longer it sits idle. I personally prefer to have it on. I have never in my life been is such a hurry that I could not wait 30 seconds for a print to eject. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
