    Heads-up: '2'-Series MFP Scan from DP (slit-only) background/blank CQ known issue

    IDK if this has been posted but if anyone has this issue I wanted to prevent them from chasing it with un-needed parts. It could be seen as a CCD or other un-related part error.

    There is no problem with the contact glass scanning. (Only when scanning from the DP slit glass at the machine left side.)

    My experience is it usually appears as a 'peach colored' background but can be any background or even blank image.

    Due to increased tension in the scanner drive belt from various factors (aging, disuse, factory variation) the motor force skews the optics when driven to the slit glass position.

    Officially there is an adjustment jig and replacement motor belt assembly available.

    However one may loosen the motor mounting bracket and re-tension the belt with minimal force (enough to prevent skipping).

    Not usually required but recommended to run U411 with chart 750500005 to recalibrate scanner after correcting major defect.

    The belt in picture is too tight

    This motor is attached to a mounting bracket. Loosen the screws for the bracket so belt is not so tight.

    Then screw bracket back down.
