Kyocera FS-C8520 transfer belt cleaner problem

    Hello

Replaced 30k pages ago maintenance kit A.
Cause the belt cleaner was jammed and black drum was defected.
    Updated firmware with full update.
Firmware ver. is 2MY_2F00.011.006 2017.02.16 is there a newer one?

And offcourse only OEM toners in machine.

Now the belt cleaner is clogged again and the gear on cleaner spiral was turned over.
I dissassembled the cleaner and glued the gear on spiral, but after 3 weeks when I went back to check the gear it was turned over again.
I checked the canal from belt cleaner to waste toner box it was clear.

Common problem with Kyo but is there any Bulletin or fix to this problem?

So the cleaner is backed up again. Check the spout and auger system moving the toner through the spout. It's very common to split a gear or two in the spout drive.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

So... costumer called that printer is making funny sounds and does not turn on.

Common problem with the power board - those two big capacitors (270uF 400V) were fried.

This time I brought my drill with me and drilled holes for the waste auger system

Turned out that there was a gear not engaging - shown on picture.

Glued it with superglue and lets see if that works

Hope this ends the drama with waste toner cleaning system.

I've had good success with drilling a #37 hole through the gear and shaft, all the way through. Cut a length of large paper clip 3mm less than the diameter of the gear, and clean up the ends of the pin. Dip the pin in two-part epoxy, and insert it into the drilled hole, through the gear and shaft, centered. Clean any excess epoxy from the gear teeth (at the pin ends) with alcohol. I have never had one of these repairs fail.

    Ok, good idea

But i already glued it with superglue... If the waste auger will not get clogged, i think the superglue will hold on.

I wish you luck ... but delrin gears with "D" shaped bores tend to stretch, and a rigid bond like superglue will probably crack rather than hold. I do hope it works for you. =^..^=

Any good idea to fix the plastic clip back on belt? It holds the cleaning assy.

Btw I had a spare used belt, but when I was getting ready to install the belt, the lift handle broke and belt shattered on the floor FML...

I wonder if anyone has tried to install a 10k resistor across the big cap(s) to ensure that they can't build up such a charge, and so they drain when powered off?
