Re: Kyocera 2552ci only prints on reboot

Not sure if this will be helpful but you can try it the next time it hangs and before you reboot.
Try these in the order listed to try to localize the problem to a specific area.

    Check Print Spooler
    1. Press Windows + R to open the Run box.
    2. Type services.msc and select OK. The Services app should load momentarily.
    3. Right Click the Print Spooler and select STOP.
    4. Right Click the Print Spooler and select START.
If it restarts printing the problem is with the spooler hanging.
    Next;
    Run Printer Troubleshooter
    1. Open the Start menu and select Settings.
    2. Select Update & Security.
    3. Switch to the Troubleshoot tab and select the option labeled Additional troubleshooters.
    4. Select Printer > Run the troubleshooter.
    5. Follow all prompts on the Printer troubleshooter to find and fix problems with printing.

Re: Kyocera 2552ci only prints on reboot

Pinging doesn't do much, other than make sure there is a DEVICE at that IP address. Are you sure it's yours and it's the only one at that IP ? On odd problems, run a continuous ping, then disconnect the MFP to make sure nothing is sharing the addresss. This probably won't help you, but for future troubleshooting.
I always try to access the web page as well. If the IP address is shared, it'll be really slow to load or timeout altogether.
Also Todd is correct on SNMP. It takes a few minutes to start reporting, which is why it will usually print until it realizes there's an issue with the MFP, and knocks it offline. As BSM2 said, the auto configure button uses SNMP as well.
Since the others are printing fine, I'd agree with the spooler diagnosis. Go into services and see if it's running when it stops printing. I would make sure it's set to restart on failure, too.
    Hope that helps !

This is what I was thinking about.
You wouldn't use a WSD port, right?
    Maybe a duplicate IP?

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I've already done the start/stop Print Spooler. As well as going to C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\PRINTERS and clearing the spooler. I haven't run the troubleshooter. I'll give that a try. Thanks.

There's no duplicate IP address. I checked at the customer's office and I now have the laptop back at my office and I'm having the same problem.

I talked to a friend of mine who works in IT he says it could be a conflict with other drivers that are installed on the laptop and he named off a few other things that it could be. He's gonna take care of it for me. It's probably gonna be Monday. I'll let everyone know once I find out.

Did you try a testing with a mini driver?

Did you try using the driver deleter tool to remove? and reinstall?

Here was my solution to the problem.

I backed everything up and did a fresh install of Windows. Prints fine now.

Re: Kyocera 2552ci only prints on reboot

This was a new experience for me. I wasn't really that familiar with print spooler....outside of what I've read on this forum. I also wasn't totally versed on how to properly remove old drivers. So, I picked up a lot of valuable information from you guys. Thanks to all that contributed.

PS - My friend also had me to go to This PC>Manage>Event Viewer. If you look under "errors", you'll find a lot of good info.
